The Management Team

CVD's leaders bring decades of diverse experience and a history of success to the digital display market. Combining creative engineering designs and a network of top-notch suppliers, these executives guide the talented employees of CVD to create innovative products and solutions for customers and partners around the world.

Ron Shiroke
CEO and Founder - Ron has an MBA and over 30 years of management experience in the industrial, electronic and computer peripheral markets. He created the Custom Display Division at Princeton Graphics and bought the division to establish CVD in 1997. Prior to joining Princeton as the VP of Sales, Ron held several executive positions at AST Research where he was critical in growing their Channels organization.

Peter O'Brien
President - Peter is a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelors in Economics and a Masters in Business. He has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience including 10 years at AST Research managing strategic global accounts. Peter joined CVD as President and is responsible for all sales and marketing functions, has P&L responsibilities, as well as drives corporate strategy for all business units. Prior to joining CVD, Peter was the Vice President and President of the Partner Services Division of ScanSource.

Diane Shiroke
CFO - Diane has been with CVD since inception and is critical to the internal accounting and financial operations of the company. She runs the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping, as well as strategic financial analysis and fiscal responsibility for the company's portfolio investments.

Phu Le
VP of Engineering Services - Phu is responsible for all the design, engineering and production functions for the company. He leads a team of high-skilled engineers and technicians, and is himself a 3D Cad designer and programmer. Phu joined CVD in 1998 as an engineer and proved himself invaluable as a designer and leader of the engineering services team. His unique designs can be seen in many of CVD's leading customer solutions.


James Kelly
V.P. Finance and Administration - Jim has had significant experience in managing and supporting start-up manufacturing and distribution operations and in support systems design and implementation. Jim has his own diversified accounting and management consulting practice, advising clients on tax and business matters, and in implementing tax compliance, internal controls, and management reporting systems for a variety of clients. Jim served as the Chief Financial Officer of Wahlco, Inc. where he was responsible for securing the investment capital which enabled the company’s management team to purchase the company. As Chief Financial Officer of Trimedyne, Inc., a publicly held developer and manufacturer of medical lasers and surgical catheters, Jim managed the full scope of financial and administrative functions including Customer Service, Investor Relations, Human Resources and MIS. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Bridgeport. He is a CPA and a member of the AICPA and California Society of CPAs.

John Ulrich
VP of Service Operations and Business Development - As the Vice President of Service Operations and Business Development at CVD, John is responsible for driving strategic relationships with the company’s customers, service partners and vendor partners to ensure a differentiated experience in the marketplace and world class customer care. John came to CVD from Gateway Corporation where he was Vice President of Professional Customer Care responsible for overall operations, customer satisfaction, sales support, and partner management within the enterprise business unit.  While at Gateway John implemented several initiatives to continuously evaluate and improve service delivery and resource management quality and effectiveness. Also in his role, he was responsible for overall Service readiness, customer retention, network service partner management and up-sell programs.Prior to Gateway, John spent 13 years in senior management roles with the Motorola Internet and Networking group in the areas of Business Development, Systems Engineering, and Service delivery as well as international assignments in the UK.  Also, John led the successful Motorola 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games effort to implement and manage the data network supporting the Olympic Games.He received a BA degree from Wayne State University and a Masters degree in business from Central Michigan University.

Dan Laurens
Director of Logistic Services - Dan manages the warranty, repair and service programs at CVD and plays a critical role in keeping customer solutions running 24x7. He has over 20 years experience in the repair and services industry and has developed a nationwide network of maintenance personnel to ensure prompt response to customer requests.
